Ballast Clearer

The Thomson Ballast Clearer allows the centre of the sleepers in a new track to be quickly cleared to give clear sight to the tamper operator.

The Thomson Sleeper Clearer is designed for rapidly and safely exposing the centre section of sleepers to make them visible to the tamper operator.

Heavy rubber blades and a V-shaped profile ensure complete clearance of the sleeper tops without risk of damage to concrete surfaces.

The fully welded all-steel frame is very rigid for long term use. The rubber blades are hard wearing and easy to replace.

This width of the device is 735mm and typically leaves a clean 600mm to 650mm wide in a single pass.

Custom versions of the sleeper clearer are available made to any width for different track gauges.
