Ballast Scarifier

Properly scarified ballast saves time on tamping steel sleepers and improves trackbed stability and drainage. Our scarifier employs tines, crumbling roller and a hydraulically adjustable levelling blade to ensure complete scarification in a single pass.

The Thomson Engineering Design Ballast Scarifier incorporates specially designed tines which lift and break up the ballast, a levelling blade to smooth the surface and a crumbling roller to ensure the upper surface is completely clear of any clods.

The device can be specified for tractor three point linkage mounting or for fitment to an excavator.
