Thomson Engineering Design’s Ballast Plough is designed to remove excess ballast from the centre of the track and place in on the shoulder area at high speed..

A single pass at 5km/hr to 8km/hr is normally all that is required to leave the track ready for tamping.

The rear wheels of the Ballast Plough are hydraulically adjustable to raise and lower the plough. Fail safe brakes are fitted as standard.

Optional extras include marker lights, front wheel height adjustment (hydraulic) and a central baffle plate adjustable sideways for ballast regulating.
